Are You Going to Heaven?
Ask Yourself These 5 Questions
Question 1: Ask Yourself: Am I a Good Person?
JESUS says “No one is good except God alone.” (Mark 10:18) “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked.” (Jeremiah 17:9) We may look “OK” compared to other people, but compared to GOD'S perfect and holy standard, we are not good.
Question 2: How Have I Sinned Against God?
Look into the perfect Law of Liberty. (James 1:25) Look to the 10 Commandments to see how you have broken GOD'S Law. Have you ever told a lie? Have you been jealous or selfish? Have you ever done something that your parents would not approve of? Have you ever used GOD'S name in vain? Have you ever put anything in your life above your devotion and love for GOD? “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of GOD.” (Romans 3:23)
Question 3: What If I Broke One of God's Laws?
“So then each of us shall give an account of himself to GOD.” (Romans 14:12) “Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God?” (1 Corinthians 6:9) “...All liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur” (Revelation 21:8) There is no way we can earn our way into heaven by being good or doing good works or by keeping God's laws; rather it can only be achieved through salvation from God. We are separated from God by our sin, which means paying for our sin for eternity in Hell. “For the wages of SIN IS DEATH.” (Romans 6:23)
Question 4: Is There Any Hope?
“But GOD shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, CHRIST died for us” (Romans 5:8) “For GOD so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16) “In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace” (Ephesians 1:7) GOD loves us so much that He sent His only SON to save us. JESUS CHRIST died on the cross in our place, to pay the penalty for our sin and then rose back to life on the third day. JESUS is our only hope.
Question 5: How is Forgiveness Applied to My Life?
“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9) “Whoever believes in the SON has eternal life” (John 3:36) “Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out.” (Acts 3:19) JESUS will forgive you of your sin and reconcile you with GOD. You must:
1. REPENT (changing your mind about your sin and the Savior, which results in a hatred and forsaking of sin)
2. TRUST IN JESUS CHRIST for forgiveness as your Savior and Lord (KING) of your life.
NOW THAT YOU KNOW, WHAT WILL YOU DO?
Every person is faced with this command.
WARNINGS FROM JESUS:
“Unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.” (Luke 13:5) Jesus says “I am the way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except by me.” (John 14:6)
