Tract Text:
“Rule Britannia! Britannia rule the waves. Britons never, never, never shall be slaves.” We are a free nation! Every person in this country is physically free, yet, as a people we are a nation of slaves. While we are free outwardly, the reality is we are all slaves inwardly; we are spiritual slaves. Jesus said, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin” (John 8:34). Are you a slave to sin? Test yourself to see if you are: Have you ever told a lie? Have you ever stolen something (even something small)? Have you looked upon someone you aren’t married to with sexual desire? Do you get drunk? Do you love Jesus with all your heart, mind, soul and strength? In reality, it's true that “all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). Your sin is against the only true God, and because He is good, He must punish you for that sin. The Bible teaches that because of your sin you deserve death and Hell, yet, God offers freedom. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, has come to rescue those who are slaves to sin. The Bible says: “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed” (John 8:36). Jesus can set us free from sin because He died on the cross as a substitute for sinners, and then on the third day He rose again from the dead. God now offers forgiveness of sin and freedom to all those who would repent (turn from their sins) and trust in Jesus ALONE for salvation. Today, God would say to you, “Seek ye the LORD while he may be found.” (Isaiah 55:6)
