Have YOU been a good kid this year? Kids do their best to please Santa with their good behavior so they can get gifts on Christmas, but how good do you have to be to please God and go to heaven? God gave us His Ten Commandments to help us see how good we really are. Have you ever lied? Have you always obeyed your parents? The Bible says if you hate someone, it's just like committing murder. Have you ever taken anything that didn't belong to you? The Commandments show us how bad we really are, and are the standard that we will be tested by when we die. On that day, God will punish all people who have broken any of the commandments. They will be sent to a place called ‘Hell,’ a bad place you don’t want to go.
But the GOOD NEWS is that God in His mercy loves sinners so much, that He made a way to be forgiven before Judgment Day so we don’t have to be punished. God sent His Son Jesus Christ down to earth. He lived a perfect life, went to the cross to pay the penalty for sin, and took the punishment we deserve just to rise again and defeat death! So put your faith in what Jesus did on the cross - stop believing that being "good" will get you to heaven! The Bible says that God will give you a new heart to obey Him and do what He wants you to do and stop doing wrong. Get a Bible and read it every day so you can learn more and more about Jesus!
