Knock Knock, Knock, TRICK OR TREAT!!! Every Halloween, kids go trick-or-treating to get lots of candy. Many people are also "tricked" into thinking they will be good enough to go to Heaven. The real trick is to know if you are good enough to go to Heaven when you die. God gave us His Ten Commandments to help us see how good we really are.

Look at a few and see how you will do. Have you ever lied? Have you ever taken anything that didn't belong to you? Have you always obeyed your parents? The Bible says if you hate someone, it's just like committing murder. The Commandments show us how bad we really are, and the standard that we will be tested by when we die. On that day, God will punish all people who have broken any of the Ten Commandments. They will be sent to a place called "Hell" - a really bad place where you don't want to go. Even though that's a scary thought, there is GOOD NEWS!

Even though we have lied, stolen, disobeyed our parents and even hated someone (any of these done even once means we have broken the Ten Commandments), there is hope! God in His mercy loves you so much that He made a way for you to be forgiven before Judgment Day so you don't have to be punished!

God sent His son Jesus Christ down to earth. He lived a perfect life. Then He went to the cross and died for our sins. He took the punishment we deserve. Then after three days Jesus rose from the grave defeating death! So what can you do? The Bible says you should put your faith in what Jesus did on the cross - stop believing that being "good" will get you to heaven! Then you should stop doing the things that displease God. The Bible says that God will give you a new heart that will want to obey God and do what He wants you to do. Then get out your Bible, read it every day and obey what you read.
