The Easter Bunny is fun! Who wouldn’t like a rabbit bringing chocolate eggs and candy? The Easter Bunny reminds us of an important truth; just because an idea makes us happy, doesn’t mean it’s true. The reason Easter even exists is because some people claim that Jesus, the Son of God, rose from the dead. But is that true? Did it actually happen? Or is it just a “nice idea,” like the Easter Bunny, that we tell ourselves to make us feel better? We’ve got GREAT NEWS! The supernatural resurrection of Jesus from the dead has more evidence to support it than any other event in ancient history. The proof is overwhelming. So why doesn’t everyone believe it? Jesus himself told us why. He said, “God’s light came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil” (John 3:19). Put simply, the reason we don’t believe is not lack of evidence.

It’s because we all really enjoy our sin. Easter is a great time to weigh what is more valuable, our love for temporary sin, or our love for our eternal soul. All of us are the same in that we’ve all sinned. Every one of us. God must judge sin or he’d be unjust. God made a way for us to be forgiven without violating justice. God took on flesh in the person of Jesus Christ. He lived the sinless life we couldn’t, and then offered Himself on the cross as a sacrifice for our sin. Jesus took the punishment we deserve, then did something no one has ever done; he raised himself from the dead! God commands you to repent and put your faith in Jesus for the forgiveness of sins. Cry out to God, confessing and forsaking your sins. Trust in what Jesus did to save you, and not in your own deeds. God will adopt you and make you a True Child of God, and you'll get the gift of eternal life. Read your Bible daily and obey what you read.
