His Way
You may have asked yourself, What is the way to really get to Heaven? or, The thought may have crossed your mind “Am I good enough to make it?” or even “God will surely be satisfied with the life I lived here?”
His Way (continued)
Well all these questions can be summed up in one verse from the bible; that’s “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life; no one comes to the Father but by Me” (John 14:6). And this me is Jesus Christ of Nazareth whom was sent to take away the sins of the world. If you believe in Him you will not perish but have Everlasting life. This then begs the question “What does it mean to believe in Jesus Christ?” It’s certainly not just admiring Jesus’ life in some way or knowing the historical facts about Him. What it means is to believe in His person (Incarnate-God/man), His life (Perfect/Sinless) and His work (that He accomplished on the Cross having paid the penalty as a substitute to atone for all the sins of those who would ever come to believe in Him). Having bore in His body the punishment of God’s Just Wrath for sin; He died and rose again culminating His resurrection on the 3rd Day, was validated by Gods satisfaction with Christ’s life/death and declared publicly His triumph over Sin, Death and Hell once-for-all. Therefore, If we confess with our mouth “Jesus is Lord” and Believe in our heart the Full story of Christ you will be saved from your Sins and it’s consequences (Romans 10:9).
Our Way
Equally important as believing in Jesus Christ fully (objective), it is critical to understand who we are (subjective) in light of the Lord or should we say as the bible says we are--which is dead in trespasses and sins (Ephesians 2:1). We cannot come to God on our own nor can we do anything good that accounts for Heaven. There is none who does good (on earth), not even one (Romans 3:12). And the good we all try to do is viewed by God as filthy rags and worthless spiritually speaking (Isaiah 64:6). The root of this problem stems from birth and the moment we’re born--As Psalms 51:5 says “Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in Sin my mother did conceive me. Summing it up best is Romans 3:23 “For ALL have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God. In Jesus’ own resounding words He says “I’ve not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance (Luke 5:32). So if you think you’re righteous or good enough Jesus did not come for you. Until you are broken and of a contrite spirit, and view yourself as an Unworthy Wretched Sinner that’s deserving of judgement and wrath because of a lifetime of sin and rebellion to God and His Law--Only then will you see your desperate/hopeless predicament and cry out in humble meekness to God for mercy that He might grant you His righteousness in the provision of His Son as a gift by His grace (Ephesians 2:8-9).
God's Promise
As we see God’s promise to His people in the new covenant--He says “I will put My law in their minds and write it on their hearts” and further “They shall be My people, and I will be their God; Then I will give them One Heart and One Way that they may fear Me forever (Jeremiah 31:33, 32:38). This ties into when you become a REAL Christian you become a new creation, letting old things pass away (2 Cor 5:17) Having new desires/affections to honor, serve and obey the Lord Jesus Christ at any cost. With a new attitude of self-denial, to the point of hating yourself, your family and your possessions to put Christ and His Gospel first. This is the required attitude of the one being led on the True Way to life--"His Way” For of Him & through Him & to Him are all things -- ALL other ways lead to death.
I implore you on Christ’s behalf, to heed this message today. Repent and Believe & be reconciled to God (2 Cor. 5:20)
