"If you had a million dollars, what would you spend it on? Cars? Houses? Clothes? Most of us think of material and temporal things. The Bible reveals Jesus as worth more than anything money can buy. But we value sin more than Jesus - is that your case? Let's look at God's standards found in His Law to see if this is true: Ever lied or stolen anything? Ever used God's name in vain? Ever looked with lust? Jesus said, “Whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” Listen to your conscience. If you are guilty of these then God sees you as a lying, thieving, blasphemous, adulterer at heart.
God is holy and just which means he will punish sinners for eternity in hell. But God, in His great love, sent Jesus, who is fully God and fully man, to live a sinless life yet die a sinner's death. By His life, He kept and fulfilled the Law that we were commanded to obey and by His death He took the punishment of sin upon Himself by suffering under God’s wrath and dying on the cross. Then He rose from the grave—defeating death and will one day return again where He will rule over all the earth. Jesus said, “Repent, and believe in the gospel.” Turn from your sins and place your faith in the Greatest Treasure on earth, Jesus Christ.
