“I have a dream!” Dr. King brought to the forefront that people were equal. But why is it that only humans have a sense of “right” and “wrong?” We don’t see animals having court trials. God made man a moral being, with a conscience. You can also sear your conscience, which is how “good” people could justify enslaving people. The Bible shows God’s moral law: Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not lie, Thou shalt not steal… If you've done any of these even once, then you’re guilty, despite how you justify your sin. An infinitely Holy and just God gives commands and demands perfection. We can never be perfect, so God sent His son Jesus as the sacrifice for our sins. He lived a sinless life, and then offered Himself on the cross, bearing the wrath of God. His resurrection proved the sacrifice acceptable. God commands all to repent and trust in Jesus for forgiveness. So, repent, cry out to God, and place your trust in Jesus Christ. God will change your heart to desire Holiness. Find a church that preaches through the Bible verse by verse. Beware, there are many hypocrites who claim Christ and walk in sin. Such will not enter Heaven. Examine yourself and compare your life to God’s Word. (Read 1 John).
