Tract Text:
“And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.” (Luke 2:9-12)
Christ said, “For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.”(John 3:17) Isn't that a great promise? It may not make complete sense, however until we know what we need to be saved from. You see, you and I would seem like good people in a human sense, however God has a higher standard: “For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.” (James 2:10) Have you kept God’s laws? Have you lied? Have you stolen anything? Ever hated anybody? The Bible says “Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer.” God is a Holy, perfect judge and says, “the soul that sins shall die.”
However, there is GOOD NEWS! About 2,000 years ago, God sent Jesus to the earth to pay the penalty for sin. Born of a virgin, he lived a sinless life. When Jesus died on the cross, He took the Father’s wrath, then defeated the power of sin and death when He rose from the dead. The Bible says, ”God commandeth all men everywhere to repent: because he hath appointed a day, in which he will judge the world in righteousness." Repent and place your faith in Jesus Christ ALONE for salvation. God will grant you eternal life... The best Christmas present you could ever receive!
