In ancient mythology, a beautiful bird, prepared to die, builds itself a nest of twigs, which ignites. The nest and bird burn fiercely. From the ashes, a new, young Phoenix arises, reborn to live again. The story of the Phoenix, “rising from the ashes,” is a myth. But, there is a true story of life after death. There was a resurrection. There is a way to be born again, but it is not through destruction. There is hope. Not in a bird, not in things, but in the creator of all things: Jesus Christ. He is not a myth. There were eyewitnesses to the excruciating whippings, beatings and crucifixion which Jesus suffered to pay the price for the sins of the world. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son that whoever believes on him should not perish but have everlasting life.” - John 3:16. Eyewitnesses saw Jesus after his resurrection, and saw him ascend into heaven. He rose, so that those who believe in him can rise from the ashes of sin – lying, cheating, adultery, pornography, greed, rage, stealing, selfishness. Whatever might have you bound, you can confess it and be reborn, and escape eternal flames. Everything you have said and done against the truth of God’s word, can be forgiven. “All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God” - Romans 3:23. “The wages (result) of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ.” - Romans 6:23. No one rises from the flames of hell. Jesus made a way of escape. Believe, confess, and eternal hope in heaven is yours.
