Tract Text:

Imagine This

Look around you and imagine this:  Basically, everyone you see will be gone from this earth 100 years from today.  Because we have never known any place but here, not being here is difficult to grasp; but truth is, no one—not anyone—escapes the end of his/her earthly life.  Everyone, then, must wonder what happens when the day comes to leave.  That answer is in the Bible.

The Bible tells us “for as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive” (I Corinthians 15:22).  Notice the word “all” here.  Everyone will live forever—yes, everyone—even those we consider destined for hell.  When people die, their soul goes to either heaven or hell.  So, judgment #1 determines where we are going to spend eternity.  Truth is, not everyone goes to heaven and “good“ won’t get you there.  “He gave the right to become God’s children to everyone who believes in Him” (John 1:12).  The key word here is “believe.”  This word is more than just a simple “believing” something to be true. The Bible says “even the demons believe, and tremble” (James 2:19).  This word encompasses more of a “putting your entire trust and faith in” what Jesus did on the cross.  Additionally, true faith will ALWAYS be accompanied by good works, just as the book of James says; "faith without works is dead” (James 2:20). True believers will have a humble heart, marked by repentance and a striving for obedience to Christ. They will have a desire to follow the Lord's command to be baptized, and to be separate from the sins of the world.  The soul of everyone who does not believe or who says they believe but don’t display that belief in their lives will go to hell.  That is the first judgment.  Then comes the resurrection when everyone—in heaven and hell—will stand before the Lord.

Two Resurrections

There will actually be two resurrections— one for the believer and one for the unbeliever.  Believers will receive rewards for their deeds: “the dead were judged according to what they had done” (Revelation 20:12). The resurrection of unbelievers will not occur until the final judgment.  “Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire” (Revelation 20:13-14).  The unbelievers will be alive in horror for eternity!  After that, the new earth will be filled with only believers forever.  Now you know what happens when we die.  The question, then, is:  What will happen to YOU when YOU die?  Which path will YOU choose?
