What do I Think?
Would you consider yourself to be a good person? Why?
Do you think you have kept the Ten Commandments?
Read each question out loud. After each one, ask, "Someone who does this is called a...?"
• Have you ever told a lie?
• Have you ever stolen something?
• Have you ever committed adultery (looked on another with lust)?
• Have you ever used the Lord's name as a swear word?
• Have you always put God first in your life?
• Have you pursued money, work or pleasure more than God?
• Have you always honored your parents, treating them in a way that is pleasing to God?
• Have you ever desired something that did not belong to you?
• Have you murdered anyone?
By your own admission, you have broken God's Law, the Ten Commandments. (Exod. 20:3-17, Deut. 5:7- 21)
Breaking God's Law is sin. (1 John 3:4 KJV)
On the Day of Judgement, if God judges you by the Ten Commandments, will you
be innocent or guilty? Why?
Will you go to Heaven or Hell?
God's word, The Bible says:
Read each verse out loud. After each one ask, "What do you think this verse means?"
1. Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find? (Proverbs 20:6)
2. Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. (1 John 3:4 KJV)
3. For all of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous deeds are like a filthy garment; and all of us wither like a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away. (Isaiah 64:6)
4. But because of your stubbornness and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God... (Romans 2:5)
5. Neither their silver nor their gold will be able to deliver them on the day of the Lord’s wrath; and all the earth will be devoured in the fire of his jealousy, for he will make a complete end, indeed a terrifying one, of all the inhabitants of the earth. (Zephaniah 1:18)
6. But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother shall be guilty before the court; and whoever says to his brother, ‘You good-for-nothing,’ shall be guilty before the supreme court; and whoever says, ‘You fool,’ shall be guilty enough to go into the fiery hell. (Matthew 5:22)
7. But I will warn you whom to fear: fear the One who, after He has killed, has authority to cast into hell; yes, I tell you, fear Him! (Luke 12:5)
What do I Think?
Is there any hope for the guilty?
Is there a way for you to be forgiven for breaking God's Law?
Would you like to know what God did for you so you wouldn't have to go to Hell?
God's word, The Bible says:
Read each verse out loud. After each one ask, "What do you think this verse means?"
1. For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23)
2. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23)
3. For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. (John 3:16)
4. Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me. (John 14:6)
5. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)
6. Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in... (Revelation 3:20a)
7. That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9)
Now, by God's Word.
Have you ever broken one of the Ten Commandments? (Exodus 20:3-17, Deuteronomy 5:7-21)
Are you a sinner? (Romans 3:23)
Would you like God's forgiveness of your sins? (1 John 1:9)
Do you believe in your heart that God raised Christ from the dead? (Romans 10:9)
Would you like to invite Jesus into your life right now? (Revelation 3:20)
Receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and receive the Holy Spirit.
God loves you and sent his son Jesus Christ who died for our sins and rose again on the third day. To have a personal relationship with God, you need to turn away from your sins (repent) and believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead. When you speak your belief out loud, Jesus will come into your life, forgive your sins and make you a new person. When you receive Jesus Christ, you are also sealed with the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:13).
Pray your Own Prayer out loud.
You should pray your own prayer out loud to receive Jesus Christ, in your own words. Pray as though he were right in front of you, listening to you speak to Him.
• Turn from sin (repent)
• Believe that God raised Jesus from the dead
• Invite Jesus into your life
• Acknowledge Him as Lord and Savior
What do I Think?
Are you a child of God? How do you know?
Is receiving the Holy Spirit and the Baptism of the Holy Spirit the same thing?
Can you believe in Jesus Christ and not receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit?
Will God baptize you with the Holy Spirit if you ask for it?
Would you like to know if what you believe is true or not?
God's word, The Bible says:
Read each verse out loud. After each one ask, "What do you think this verse means?"
1. He said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” And they said to him, “No, we have not even heard whether there is a Holy Spirit.” (Acts 19:2)
2. In order that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we would receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. (Gal. 3:14)
3. However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him. (Romans 8:9)
4. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth. (Acts 1:8)
5. For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God...The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God. (Romans 8:14, 8:16)
6. If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him? (Luke 11:13)
7. Now when the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent them Peter and John, who came down and prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit. For He had not yet fallen upon any of them; they had simply been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then they began laying their hands on them, and they were receiving the Holy Spirit. (Acts 8:14-17)
Now, by God's Word.
Are you a child of God? (Romans 8:14, 8:16)
Are you led by the Spirit of God as you live your life? (Acts 1:8)
Have you accepted Jesus Christ, but not received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit? (Acts 8:14-17)
Would you like to receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit? (Acts 2:1-4, Acts 4:31, Acts 5:32, Acts 8:14-17, Acts 9:17, Acts 10:44, Acts 19:2-6)
Receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.
When you believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, you are sealed with the Holy Spirit. The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is a separate event that happens after you believe in Jesus Christ. It can also happen at the same time you believe in Jesus, or even not happen at all.
Jesus baptizes us, or fills us, with the Holy Spirit from our Father in Heaven to give us power, comfort, and guidance in living a Christian life. Some people who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior have not received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.
Pray your Own Prayer out loud.
You should pray your own prayer out loud to receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, in your own words.
• Admit your need
• Ask for the Baptism of the Holy Spirit
• Receive it by faith
