Tract Text:
Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord (Luke 2:10—11).
The Bible says the baby in Bethlehem’s manger was none other than the eternal Son of God in a body of human flesh (John 1:1—14), who was born and lived and died for a very specific purpose.
The Bible says Jesus came to keep every commandment of God (Matthew 5:17—18); to bear witness to the truth (John 18:37); to reveal to man his sinful condition (John 15:22); to call sinners to repentance (Luke 5:32). Jesus came to seek and save the lost (Luke 19:10); to redeem transgressors (Galatians 4:5); to give life (John 10:10) to those under death’s curse (Hebrews 2:14—15).
The Bible says Jesus came to die on a cross for your sins and mine (John 12:27—33). He rose again to offer us forgiveness and everlasting life (Romans 4:25). Jesus came because you and I are sinners who fall short of God’s glory (Romans 3:23) and have no hope of salvation on the basis of anything we do—good deeds, church membership, baptism, charity, etc. (Ephesians 2:8—9).
Will you receive the free gift God offers to all who will repent and place their faith and trust in His only begotten Son (John 3:16)?
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord (Romans 6:23).
